Trees help to prevent soil erosion, sequester carbon dioxide, produce oxygen, some animals are dependent upon trees. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity.
Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people. Planted strategically, trees on a property near homes and other buildings can help to block wind and create shade. This helps to reduce the need for heating in the winter, and the need for cooling in the summer. Japanese medicine believes spending some time among the trees can help lower our stress and blood pressure”

Approximately 80 percent of our forests have been destroyed since the 1900’s, causing a 52 percent reduction in land-based wildlife. We’ve lost 50% of the globe’s trees. Every year deforestation cuts through around 18 billion hectares of forest – that’s equal to the size of Panama.
